Hardfix — Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 August 2026

Hardfix does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app contains no networking code, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. Nothing it reads ever leaves your iPhone unless you deliberately export a file and choose where to send it.

What the app reads, and why

Where it is stored

Recorded tracks, waypoints and app settings are written to your device's own app storage and to UserDefaults. They are not uploaded anywhere. They are included in your encrypted iPhone or iCloud device backup only because the whole app container is, and Apple — not Hardfix — controls that backup.

Deleting a track in the app deletes its file. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.

What leaves the device

Only what you explicitly export. Choosing GPX, CSV or GeoJSON writes a file and hands it to the iOS share sheet; where it goes from there is your choice, and is governed by whichever app or service you send it to. Hardfix has no server and receives no copy.

Third parties

None. Hardfix uses only Apple's own frameworks — Core Location, Core Motion, MapKit and Swift Charts. Map tiles on the Track screen are served by Apple Maps and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. Hardfix sends Apple no identifier of yours.

Children

Hardfix is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Your control

Location and Motion access can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. The app keeps working with reduced or no access, and says plainly on screen what it can no longer show.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
